The 60 km Puumala archipelago route is one of the most beautiful cycling routes in Finland. This 2-day tour takes you on a coastal route around the beautiful nature of Lake Saimaa, the largest lake in Finland, and includes two ferry trips. You will find several beaches, bridges, causeways, Saimaa Geopark geosites and restaurants and cafes along the way. You might even spot the rare Saimaa Ringed Seal basking in the sunshine!
Your charming 2-night accommodation at Nestorinranta’s log granary sleeps two and includes breakfast, bike rental and ferry crossings. The rooms are equipped with a small fridge, a coffee machine and a microwave oven. Toilets, showers, summer-kitchen, BBQ and sauna can be found in the same courtyard. Electric bikes are available for extra charge.
On the day of arrival you can explore the area, enjoy a delicious dinner at our cosy barn restaurant and perhaps have a sauna and enjoy swimming in the clear waters of Lake Saimaa. The next morning we offer a hearty breakfast before you head off to the ferry with your bikes at midday and spend the day admiring the beautiful scenery along the route. Dinner, sauna and sweet dreams await you on your return. On your last day after breakfast you have the opportunity to take a self guided 2-hour canoeing trip on Lake Saimaa which is included in the price.
