A Guided Culinary 3-day journey through Saimaa-region

Saimaa is the pearl of the Finnish Lakeland, magical with a unique atmosphere. The long history of the region is witnessed by numerous rock paintings and Lake Saimaa is also the home to the sympathetic and sweet Saimaa seals, the world's most endangered seal species. The region Saimaa is not only the cleanest and purest region in Finland regarding of nature, it is also known for its excellent Finnish cuisine. The raw ingredients are very fresh – wild herbs, berries and mushrooms can be gathered and picked from the forests. In addition, the clean and fresh air, pure soil and a short but intensive growth phase, increase the intensity of the ingredients. Local fishermen know the waters and they know where are the best fishing spots. Freshwater fish such as salmon, grayling and Muikku (small whitefish) are very popular.
