There are interesting garden destinations in the Mikkeli region for green-fingered visitors. Mikkeli region’s gardens offer a peaceful escape from hustle and bustle in beautiful settings. Here are some of the most notable gardens in the region: 

Kenkävero’s organic garden cultivates a wide range of decorative and utility plants. There is also a berry garden that cultivates blueberry bushes, buckthorn, various currents and apples. The herb garden in turn grows annual and perennial spices and medicinal plants. 

Mikkelipuisto Park.The green landscapes of Mikkelipuisto Park contain numerous model gardens full of ideas of garden enthusiasts. The park has a play area for children, activities, restaurant Greeneri and a garden shop during the summer season.

Naisvuori Hill and the Church Park with its fountains and flower gardens invite walkers in the centre of Mikkeli. The Naisvuori Observation Tower is one of the city’s most famous landmarks, and its recently renovated gardens represent the 1970s. The pretty Church Park (Kirkkopuisto in Finnish) dates back to the 1930s. 

Pirtti Park in Kangasniemi features the almost 200 traditional plants that are native to Finland. The plants have been donated from across the country and represent plants that have cultivated locally for hundreds of years. The plants include medicinal, ornamental and other herbs.

Tertti Manor offers an authentic 19th century manor house garden including a rose garden, a walled garden and an arboretum that houses almost 100 tree species - not to forget the eternally blushing Tertti Rose, which has charmed visitors with her delicate fragrance since 1984.
